  1.   README.TXT for Ultimate Add-Ons Volume I Tournament Edition (8/25/95)

  3. CATALOG:
  4. We now put our catalog on CD-ROM and we added the six hottest games plus
  5. the newest add-ons.  This copy is FREE OF CHARGE to all customers and
  6. we would like to thank you for your business!!!
  7.  
  8. INSTRUCTIONS:
  9. Insert CD-ROM into drive. The type install from the prompt where your CD-ROM
  10. is located.  Follow the installation procedures.  After installed type GO 
  11. from the C:\UAO directory which will be located on your hard drive.  You need
  12. the REGISTERED VERSIONS for any of these extra add-ons to work. If you install
  13. any of the REGISTERED VERSIONS of the games after ULtimate Add-Ons has already
  14. been installed, just reinstall as described above.  This will let you reset-up
  15. the directory paths for the levels will work.  Also important upgrade to all
  16. the latest versions of each game to assure the add on levels to work.  All
  17. the latest patches are located on the CD-ROM in \tools\patches directory.
  18.  
  19. RUN ADD-ONS FOR DOOM, DOOM2, AND HERETIC:
  20. Click on the button of your choice from 3D Add-Ons page.  Then you will see
  21. a very big list of levels.  Hit return to select the level and then a blue
  22. menu will come up that allows you a variety of options.  Change what you want
  23. and hit (F-10) to launch level.  Be sure to read the instructions to get the
  24. most out of ULTRALAUNCH and order the REGISTERED VERSION if you like it 
  25. because it's a great program.  Look in the Cheat's directory under UL.DOC. 
  26. (NOTE) When playing Doom2 we added some great sound wads listed a S1, S2, etc. 
  27. Tag these by hitting the space bar and select the level you want to play and 
  28. hit return.  This will replace all the sounds in the levels.  Do it it's 
  29. great!!!

  31. RUN ADD-ONS FOR DESCENT:
  32. Click on the button Descent from 3D Add-On page.  Next pick one of the levels
  33. you want and hit (F10) to launch it.  The ones that are highlighted red mean
  34. that they have already been copied.  From the Descent game itself, select
  35. the level you want to run from the list.  And if you just want to run Descent 
  36. and not copy any levels hit (F9).

  38. RUN ADD-ONS FOR DARKFORCES:
  39. Click on the button Dark Forces from 3D Add-On page.  Select level and hit
  40. (F10) to unzip it.  Then choose the level (example.Gob) and hit (F10) to run 
  41. it.  Hit (F9) if you just want to run Dark Forces.  And levels highlighted in 
  42. red means they have already been copied.  Then select the level you want to
  43. run directly from the missions list located in the REGISTERED VERSION of
  44. Dark Forces.  It's similar to Descent to run levels. (NOTE) There are more 
  45. extra levels for Dark Forces located in \DF1 directory listed on the CD. We
  46. did not add them because they replace levels in the original game until 
  47. they are deleted from your Dark Forces directory.  Just unzip them over to
  48. your Dark Forces directory to use them.

  50. RUN ADD-ONS FOR RISE OF TRIAD:
  51. Click on the button Rise Of Triad from 3D Add-On Page.  Select level you want
  52. to play and hit (f10) to unzip it.  Then a blue directory screen will come
  53. up and select use "Modified Stuff" hit return. Then select choose "Alternate
  54. Game Level" and hit return.  Use spacebar to tag the add-on level you want
  55. to run. Hit escape twice and get back to original blue directory and then
  56. select "Save and Run ROTT" and hit return to run level.  To run original
  57. game, hit (F9-Continue and Run Game) and select "Save and Run ROTT" on the
  58. setup screen.

  60. RUN SHAREWARE VERSIONS:
  61. Just click on the button of the game you want to play and it will start.
  62. NOTE: All demos included on this disc are in default mode.  (Sound Blaster
  63. Irq 5, DMA 1, I/O Addr 220)  If program locks up your system or appears to
  64. be functioning improperly, copy the program to your hard disk and run
  65. setup again.

  67. SHAREWARE CONCEPT:
  68. Games included on this CD-ROM are all shareware versions. Which means the 
  69. author let's you try before you buy.  So get the REGISTERED version today
  70. because they all are really great games!  You may order from our catalog
  71. located in the cheats directory or directly from the authors.  Order today
  72. so you can play all the extra levels on Ultimate Add-Ons!!!!!!!

  93. The iface.bat and the connected ???go.bat's are just examples.  The interface
  94. was written this way for to two main reasons:  1) To run the games as
  95. "cleanly" as possible and 2) To allow for customization by the user.
  96. Please put in your favorite launcher in the ???go.bat's and modify iface.bat
  97. to meet your needs.
